Everlast Show Stopped By Brawl

Craig Rosen

(2/5/01, 4 p.m. ET) - Everlast's concert on Friday night (February 2) at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit, Michigan, turned into a brawl after the singer made a negative comment about hometown favorite Eminem. The two artists have been involved in a heated exchange of words in recent months.

During his set, Everlast made a negative comment about Eminem that prompted several members of the audience to rush the stage. While reports have surfaced implicating Bizarre and Kuniva of Eminem's group D-12 as two of the individuals who rushed the stage, an Interscope Records publicist maintains that all six of the members of D-12 are in Europe performing with Eminem.

Three people were transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital after the brawl, but Everlast and his entourage, who were escorted out of the venue by the police, escaped injury.

Everlast started the back-and-forth exchange with Eminem on "Ear Drum Pop," a song on the Dilated Peoples' album, The Platform. Eminem then responded with "I Remember," the B-side to D-12's first single, "S--t On You." Everlast then released the underground single "Whitey's Revenge," which was followed by Eminem and D-12's "Quitter."

Eminem, who is scheduled to perform in Paris, France, Tuesday (February 6), was unavailable for comment.
