Enya Continues Worldwide Dominance

(2/5/01, 10 a.m. ET) - Irish star Enya has proved her worldwide popularity once again with her latest album, A Day Without Rain. Since its release in November, the effort has sold more than 4 million copies across the globe, including a million here in the States.
The effort has charted in the top 10 in 21 different countries, among them such far-off lands as Malaysia (Number 7), Greece (Number 10), South Africa (Number 8), and Poland (Number 1). Meanwhile, it has also earned platinum status in 16 countries and gold status in another eight.
Here in the states, A Day Without Rain debuted at Number One on the New Age charts and has claimed the spot for eight consecutive weeks.
Spanning her five-album career, Enya has now sold more than 48 million records worldwide--despite never having performed a live concert.
Meanwhile, look for the single "Only Time" to be featured in the film Sweet November and its accompanying soundtrack. The movie, starring Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron, opens nationally on February 16.
