Sixpence Contributes To 'Today' Charity Compilation Album

(7/31/00, 4 p.m. ET) - Sixpence None The Richer will contribute a new song to 'Today' Presents: The Best Of The Summer Concert Series, Volume One, due out August 22. The band contributed the song "Us" to the NBC Records/Redline Entertainment album, a compilation of live performances from the Today show, from which a percentage of proceeds will benefit the National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance. The organization was co-founded by Today co-anchor Katie Couric, whose husband died from the disease two years ago at age 42.
Other artists featured on the CD include Phil Collins, Sheryl Crow, Doobie Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, Amy Grant, Hootie & the Blowfish, Brian Setzer Orchestra
, the Pretenders, Lionel Richie, and Donna Summer.
Sixpence will perform on Today again on August 30, and also has upcoming appearances on The Tonight Show and Late Night With Conan O'Brien.
