(7/27/00, 1 p.m. ET) - With his life story now the subject of the TV movie Meat Loaf: To Hell and Back, the heavyweight rocker is currently pondering his next move. He tells LAUNCH that after a recent spate of film activity, including Fight Club and Crazy In Alabama, his next project is likely to be a new album, although whether or not it's the long-rumored Bat Out Of Hell 3 with Jim Steinman remains to be seen.

"It could be and it might not be, and so I'm basically on the theory that it won't be," he said. "I have something in my head -- basically, I feel like Glenn Miller. You know how in 'The Glenn Miller Story,' he kept going, 'I hear something in my head that. . . it doesn't sound like anything'? And I really hear something in my head that doesn't sound like anything that I've ever heard before, and so I'm trying to figure out how to go about doing it and how to work my way to get there, because I'm not gifted on any instrument. So I have to be able to find the right person to. . . we can create this thing and make it go."

A spokesperson tells LAUNCH that the singer most likely won't get into the studio until the beginning of next year, so there probably won't be a finished album until late 2001. Meat Loaf: To Hell And Back is being shown on VH1 and it will repeat today (July 27) at 3 p.m. ET/PT and Friday (July 28) at 11 p.m. ET.
