Jaheim Won't Offer A First Week Sales Prediction

(3/13/01, 7 a.m. ET) -- R&B sensation Jaheim's debut album, Ghetto Love, is out today (March 13). The recording industry has often been big on first week sales and generally uses those sales totals to determine how much additional support to give albums, if any. Luckily, Jaheim doesn't have to worry about losing support since he has already garnered a hit with his debut single, "Could It Be," which is currently Number Two on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales chart after peaking at Number One.
LAUNCH recently tried to get the young singer to offer a prediction for first week sales totals. While Jaheim refused to offer a figure, he did make it clear that he expects big things from this album in the long run: "I think, in the long run, it's going to be a monster. I'm reaching for a diamond, to tell you the truth. I got a diamond in my heart, man. You know, it's a diamond in the rough, man."
