KRS-One Readies 'Hot' Single

(1/22/01, 4 p.m. ET) - KRS-One's new single, "Hot," is the first release from his forthcoming Sneak Attack album, which is scheduled for a March 27 release. The song was produced by Grand Daddy I.U. and the Funky Four's Jazzy Jeff.
KRS-One has regularly criticized the watered-down sound of most popular rap, and he says his new album will provide listeners with an example of hard-core hip-hop. "It will offer an alternative to the sometimes over-commercialized rap product of today," he said in a statement. "I don't perform solely for money. I only rhyme when it is necessary, and it has become necessary."
KRS-One was the frontman for Boogie Down Productions, one of the most respected hip-hop groups of all time.
Sneak Attack will be KRS-One's fourth solo album.
