(10/11/02, 4 p.m. ET) -- The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde joined Chaka Khan, Gloria Estefan, Lee Ann Womack, Michelle Branch and host Jennifer Love Hewitt in Los Angeles for the Thursday (October 10) taping of Lifetime's upcoming TV special, Women Rock! Girls And Guitars.
After the show at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre, Hynde said she had a great time with the other artists, but says she felt humbled by her co-stars. "Gloria Estefan had me, I thought I was going to lose it during my songs, because I kept thinking about stuff she was saying earlier on and everything. She's a riot, and really smart. I mean, I was like the dumb rock singer there. Everyone else was really the cream of their genre, and to get to sing on some of their songs, was fantastic for me."
The Pretenders' debut on Artemis Records, Loose Screw, arrives in stores on November 12.
The third annual Women Rock! Girls And Guitars television special airs October 25 on the Lifetime channel, as part of the network's public-awareness campaign, Our Lifetime Commitment: Stop Breast Cancer For Life.
