Jagged Edge's Casey Explains Producing Song For Bell Biv DeVoe

(1/17/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- Jagged Edge members Brandon and Brian Casey produced the song "In My Crib" for Bell Biv DeVoe's new self-titled album, which reached Number 88 last week on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart. BBD, a spin-off group from '80s R&B boy band New Edition, features fellow New Edition member Ralph Tresvant on the song.
Brandon Casey recently spoke to LAUNCH about working with the group on the song. "The song is called 'In My Crib.' It's the only New Edition song on the Bell Biv DeVoe album, so it's hot. It was a dream come true just to work with those guys. We grew up wanting to be in their group, you know, so it was almost true for a day, you know."
In 1999, Jagged Edge titled its sophomore album J.E. Heartbreak after the 1989 New Edition song "N.E. Heartbreak." Jagged Edge's platinum current album, Jagged Little Thrill, is Number 125 on the Billboard 200 chart.
