(10/10/01, 5 p.m. ET) -- The European itinerary of husband-and-wife duo Aimee Mann and Michael Penn has become the latest tour casualty in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The 12-show tour, to have kicked off Thursday night (October 11) in London, has been "postponed indefinitely," according to a statement on Mann's official website (aimeemann.com).
"Given the recent terrorist attacks, news reports of there being a 100 percent chance of another attack, (October 7)'s military action, and the U.S. State Department's strong warnings to Americans traveling abroad, we find ourselves in the unfortunate position of having to postpone our upcoming tour indefinitely," the statement reads.
"We apologize to our friends and fans who were planning to come to our shows and we hope to return when things have calmed down a bit."
Janet Jackson, Weezer, and Pantera are among the acts who have also canceled overseas tour dates following last month's tragic events.
