Alice In Chains To Open 'Music Bank'

(9/14/99, 1 a.m. PDT) - Music Bank, the forthcoming boxed set from Alice In Chains, is due Oct. 26. The set contains 48 songs, including masters, newly recorded tracks, rare B-sides, demos, alternate takes, and never-before-heard live recordings. Music Bank was preceded by Nothing Safe--Best Of The Box, which was released in June. That contained one of two new songs, "Get Born Again." "Died," the second new track recorded in September 1998, is included in the boxed set. The collection also includes a CD-ROM featuring the game, "The Journey," a CD-ROM video of "Get Born Again," as well as other clips. The name of the collection comes from the warehouse in which the band used to rehearse and live. The Music Bank was managed by AIC frontman Layne Staley back in the late '80s. The set also gives a lot of perspective by including the "Treehouse" demos. The collective demos--"I Can't Have You Blues," "Watcha Gonna Do," "Social Parasite," and "Queen Of The Rodeo"--were the first recordings by the band circa 1987.
