Ginuwine Focuses On The 'Differences'

(8/16/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- R&B crooner Ginuwine recently released a second single, "Differences," from his gold-certified third album, The Life. With the ballad "Differences," Ginuwine hopes to jump-start sales of his current album, which have been somewhat slow compared to his two previous outings, 1996's The Bachelor and 1999's 100% Ginuwine, both of which have been certified double-platinum for sales of two million copies.
Ginuwine recently explained that, to him, longevity is more important than huge record sales. "Well, long as I, even though, reach the goal of successfully doing what I did the last time, I'm fine," he said. "I mean, of course anybody wants to go 20 million and 50 million, but I think longevity, you know, outweighs that at anytime, you know what I'm sayin'? Like, a perfect example to that is Mary J. Blige: You can chalk up two million for her every time she comes out. And I think she would rather have that then to just come out that first time and do 20 million and then now struggling to do gold, you know what I'm sayin'?"
