(12/28/00, 12 p.m. ET) - R&B singer Joe recently released a new single, "Stutter," from his double- platinum-certified album, My Name Is Joe, which has sold more than 2 millions copies. The song was produced by Teddy Riley, who has worked with Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Keith Sweat, and Monifah.
A remix of "Stutter" featuring Mystikal will be included on the soundtrack to the upcoming film Double Talk. In addition to the new single, Joe has been tapped to perform on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.
Recently LAUNCH caught up with Joe, who readily acknowledged those who have influenced him. " I look up to all the old-schoolers: Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Michael Jackson, Steely Dan, and the Eagles. I mean, there are so many great artists before me, you know, that really kinda set the stage for a young guy like me to come on. So you know it's not just about hip-hop or pop. It's all about music. It's just about music."
