(9/17/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Rap superstar Eminem and super producer Dr. Dre were among several defendants named in a lawsuit by Harlene Stein, the wife of late movie composer Ronald Stein, which alleges the duo utilized her husband's "Pigs Go Home" on the song "Guilty Conscience" from Eminem's 1999 debut, the Slim Shady LP, without permission, according to the lawsuit filed in the United States District Court Central District of California in August.

The lawsuit, which also names Interscope Records and several publishing companies as additional defendants, is seeking unspecified damages on the grounds of copyright infringement, breach of contract, and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing.

The liner notes of the Slim Shady LP include a credit which says that "Guilty Conscience" contains an interpolation of "Pigs Go Home" which was a short song Stein created for the 1970 movie Getting Straight.

Stein was not listed as a composer and his wife who inherited his publishing rights when he died in 1988 has filed suit. Stein maintains that she has received no compensation for the usage of the song.

Eminem's the Slim Shady LP has sold more than four million copies since its release according to the RIAA.
