Godsmack Ready For 'Faceless' Release

(4/8/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- Godsmack is ready to release its third album for Republic/Universal Records on Tuesday (April 8). Faceless is a batch of brand-new tunes from frontman Sully Erna, and the first single, "Straight Out Of Line," holds the top spot on Radio & Records' Active Rock chart and is at Number Nine on the radio industry's trade publication's Alternative chart.
The band is set to be on the new late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live on April 11, and fans can win a chance to be in the audience for the show through the band's website.
Godsmack is going to be revealing big things for Faceless, and both Erna and new drummer Shannon Larkin are stoked to unleash the new effort and the tour that will follow. "It's going to be really different than anything anybody's ever done and we're not even going to say anything more," Larkin said. Erna added, "We're going to kick a new ass on this planet. Coming up, we're on deck."
Godsmack will play a few festival dates in late April/early May before embarking on a headline tour starting May 22 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. A full tour itinerary hasn't been revealed at press time, and is expected on Wednesday (April 9).
