(7/25/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Rapper Eve, her company, Blondie Rockwell, Inc, her manager Troy Carter, and Innovo Group executive, Anthony Ottimo were hit with a breach of contract lawsuit in New York Supreme Court on June 27 by the Wilhelmina Artist Management company for allegedly not paying the company commissions for negotiating deals with Reebok, Candies, and others on Eve's behalf.
According to the lawsuit, Eve entered into an exclusive two year deal with Wilhelmina in May of 2001 that allowed the company to represent her in the field of commercial marketing activities which include modeling, runway, fashion, commercials, spokesperson deals, tour sponsorships, celebrity endorsement, licensing and product placement.
The lawsuit alleges that Eve negotiated a side deal with Ottimo to launch her Fetish clothing line after Wilhelmina introduced the parties and initially negotiated a contract to have Eve endorse a variety of fashion items for TGG Enterprises Inc.
In addition, the lawsuit alleges that Wilhelmina was never paid for negotiating contracts with Reebok and Candies Shoes, and that Eve attempted to sever ties with the company without paying the company its commissions.
The lawsuit did not include a specific dollar amount requested for damages.
A call to Eve's representatives was not returned at press time.
