Audioslave's Tim C. Has No Communication With Former Rage Singer

(7/30/03, 3 p.m. ET) -- Bassist Tim C. is happy playing with Audioslave, the group which features two of his old bandmates from Rage Against The Machine--guitarist Tom Morello and drummer Brad Wilk--plus former Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell.
Rage Against The Machine split up in 2000 and Tim C. said he and his old childhood friend, former Rage vocalist Zack De La Rocha, haven't really kept up with each other. In fact, the bassist told LAUNCH he was unsure if De La Rocha has even heard Audioslave's music. "I don't know. He may have," Tim C. said. "I suspect he has, seeing that it's getting played on more radio stations than ever before, you know. So, he's doing his thing. He's doing his solo record and it'll come out when it comes out. That's where I'm at with that."
De La Rocha abruptly left Rage Against The Machine in October of 2000. At the time, he said he would be releasing a solo album, but that project has yet to surface. However, given his history of political activism, it was no surprise when he recently made the song, "March Of Death," his response to the war in Iraq, available at his official website, zackdelarocha.com.
Audioslave is currently on the road with Lollapalooza. The tour's next stop is tonight (July 30) at Jones Beach Theater in Long Island, New York.
