Dr. Dre To Score 'Bad Boys 2'

(6/11/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Legendary producer Dr. Dre, who helped to launch the careers of Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent, has been tapped to score this summer's action thriller Bad Boys 2, according to MTV.
Bad Boys 2, which opens on July 18, is an action-comedy flick that will feature Martin Lawrence and Will Smith who starred in the 1995 original. The actors play two narcotic officers who attempt to break up the flow of the drug ecstasy into Miami. As with the original, Bad Boy 2 will be directed by Michael Bay.
The Bad Boy 2 soundtrack, which features Jay-Z, Loon, the Notorious B.I.G., Carl Thomas, 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Lenny Kravitz, and Beyonce Knowles, will be released on July 15 on Bad Boy Records. The first single from the set is Jay-Z's "La La La (Excuse Me Again)."
In related news, another seasoned rap producer RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan has hooked up with Metallica's Lars Ulrich to create the score for Quentin Tarantino's forthcoming martial arts movie, Kill Bill.
Kill Bill, which was written and directed by Tarantino, stars Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Daryl Hannah, Vivica A. Fox, Lucy Liu, and Julie Dreyfus, among others. The movie is scheduled for release in October.
