(6/4/01, 4 p.m. ET) -- R&B crooner Dave Hollister was unable to perform at a scheduled concert over the Memorial Day weekend when he passed out while en route to the venue for a soundcheck.
After the incident, Hollister's manager Donnie Harrell released the following statement, "Dave Hollister was treated for chest pains and exhaustion and released from the hospital last week. He is resting at home with his lovely wife and children and following doctors orders for bed rest. Dave and his family would like to thank all of the fans and well wishers for their prayers and support."
Hollister's latest effort, Chicago '85...The Movie, has been certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies. The singer's 1999 debut, Ghetto Hymns, also went gold.
