INXS/Midnight Oil/Men At Work Tour Cancelled

(4/16/01, 3 p.m. ET) - The Great Australian Bite tour, featuring the Down Under triple-bill of INXS, Midnight Oil, and Men At Work, has been cancelled. No official reason was given, but two of the bands released short statements via their websites.
Inxs.com features the statement, "INXS deeply regret, and are sad to announce to all our loyal fans in North America, that due to unforeseen circumstances the proposed Great Australian Bite tour has been cancelled. More information will be posted at a later date."
The Midnightoil.com text reads, "We've withdrawn from the Great Australian Bite tour due to unforeseen circumstances. We are planning to return for a global tour including U.S.A. and Europe and South America in October and November with different guests."
The Men At Work site (menatwork.com.au) didn't have a statement about the tour or its cancellation.
