(4/13/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- Tha Dogg Pound member Kurupt will begin filming his role in the Kurt Russell/Ving Rhames film Plague Season next week. Kurupt's "Behind The Walls," the lead single from the OZ soundtrack, is Number 60 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, and he is featured on Shade Sheist's "Where I Wanna Be," Number 32 on the Hot Rap Singles chart.

Plague Season is set in South Central Los Angeles in 1992 and deals with the racial tension surrounding the Rodney King trial and riots. Russell and Rhames portray Sgt. Eldon Perry and Asst. Chief Arthur Holland who attempt to prevent further outbreak in the city. Kururpt's character, Orchard, is a relentless hired killer with a comedic edge.

The Intermeia film is being directed by Ron Shelton whose credits include Play It To The Bone and White Men Can't Jump, and produced by Cotty Chubb, Jim Jacks, and Sean Daniel.

As member of Tha Dogg Pound, Kurupt and Daz released the 1996 double-platinum Dogg Food. As a solo artist, Kurupt released 1998's Kuruption! and 1999's Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha.
