Lemonheads, Evan Dando MIA?

(8/18/98, 1 p.m. PDT) - It's been nearly two years since the Lemonheads issued their last album of new material, Car Button Cloth. Since then, the band, fronted by Evan Dando, split with Atlantic Records and the Lemonheads have been all but nonexistent.
That's not likely to change any time soon, as Dando doesn't seem to bein a rush to get a new record out. Although Atlantic recently issued The Best Of The Lemonheads, Dando still doesn't have a new recording contract.
"He's been writing and making demos," says Dando's manager Janet Billig, who adds that her client hasn't even started to look for a new record deal. Dando, however, has made a few public appearances. On August 6, he turned up at New York club Brownies playing drums with former Lemonheads members Nick Dalton. Dando also recently turned up backstage at a Smashing Pumpkins gig. However, head Pumpkin Billy Corgan recently told Howard Stern that the Lemonhead had to be removed from the premises after he started misbehaving.
