112's Album Delayed
02/02/2001 12:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Brett Atwood
(2/2/01, 12 p.m. ET) - The release date for 112's third album, Part 3, has been pushed back to March 20, after being originally scheduled for March 6. The two previous 112 albums, 1996's 112 and 1998's Room 112, have both been certified platinum, with the latter reaching double-platinum status for sales of 2 million copies.
The group has grown musically and creatively between albums, and wrote all but two songs on Part 3, including the current single, "It's Over Now," which is Number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Recently, 112 member Mike explained how the group became better songwriters.
"Under the tutelage of Tim and Bob," he said. "'Cause we were already writers, but as far as like structure--they knew how to do songs because at the time they were doing songs like for Boys II Men at the time, and TLC, you know, and what-not. So, it was under their direction that we pretty much got our songwriting ability. The creativity and the style now comes from 112."
Tim and Bob produced and co-wrote Sisqo's megahit "Thong Song."
