(12/12/00, 12 p.m. ET) - Many fans were anticipating a new Dru Hill album in the near future, but frontman Sisqo squashed those hopes when he announced that his next solo album will be released before any new Dru Hill material since there is strife within the group. Sisqo plans to release his new album, Return Of The Dragon, this spring, and the set will include collaborations with his bandmates and a new Dru Hill song.
Sisqo recently spoke to LAUNCH about the challenges of putting out a Dru Hill album. " We are not recording anything right now, however I am recording a new album that they are featured on," he explained. "Jazz is recording a new album that we will be featured on. Basically the typical group stuff with egos clashed, and we couldn't figure it out and pull it together. But the cool thing is that everybody is still willing to work on each other's projects, so hopefully in the near future we will be able to settle our differences or whatever and come out with an album."
Sisqo revealed what fans can expect from him. " Come with the solo album next... I have a movie coming out this January 15 called Get Over It, so be looking out for that as well as a new sitcom. I'm working on NBC with writer Michael Jacobs, and it's going to be coming up real soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that as well."
Sisqo's debut solo album, Unleash The Dragon, has sold more than 4 million copies to date.
