(3/26/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Music From And Inspired By The Scorpion King is out today (March 26). The album was produced by Sully Erna of Godsmack. The Boston-area band contributed a brand-new track, "I Stand Alone," and it's the first single.
Erna told LAUNCH, "It's like a prequel to the movie The Mummy Returns. It happens 4,000 years ago in ancient Egypt--4,000 years prior to, you know? They sent a script and they sent a trailer, and that's kind of what it was based on--was about the character in the movie."
The soundtrack also boasts new songs by Creed, System Of A Down, Nickelback, Sevendust, Drowning Pool, Coal Chamber, Hoobastank, Twelve Stones, and Mushroomhead.
The album also includes Ozzy Osbourne and Rob Zombie's "Iron Head" and P.O.D.'s "Set It Off."
The Scorpion King, which stars WWF superstar the Rock, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Kelly Hu, opens in theaters April 19.
