(5/25/01, 6 p.m. ET) -- "You Wouldn't Believe," the first single from 311's upcoming full-length, From Chaos, arrives at radio today (May 29). The single hits as the rap-rock group prepares for the June 19 release of its sixth album.
The song is about a man suffering from low self-esteem after the demise of a romantic relationship. Frontman Nick Hexum tells LAUNCH that it reminds him of one particular favorite movie scene. "I liken it to the scene in Swingers when they're all telling their boy there, you know, like, 'You're so money and you don't even know it, man.' 'Cause he's just, like, down in the dumps and just sitting in his apartment drinking orange juice. And it's like that, like, trying to cheer and saying, 'Man, you got a head full of ideas that you wouldn't believe and your heart made of pure gold and you just can't see it right now.'"
The group recently filmed a video for "You Wouldn't Believe" in Long Beach, California. The shoot reportedly included a cameo from Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal. Shaq recently collaborated with members of 311 and Korn's Fieldy on his own song, "Psycho."
