(1/16/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- St. Lunatics member Ali taped the video for his single "Boughetto" in Los Angeles last week. The record, featuring Murphy Lee, is the first song from his album Heavy Starch, which is slated to be released April 9 on Universal Records.
The artist, who hails from St. Louis like fellow St. Lunatic member Nelly, recently explained the vibe of his album. "It's a Lunatic record. It's an Ali record, but you'll see my personality, but you'll still see the Lunatic in it, and the whole swing thing, and how we keep it hype," Ali said. "We've got party music. But it tends to have a rougher edge on certain situations and deals with a little bit more heavier topics every now and then. But Heavy Starch. First single, 'Boughetto.' What's 'Boughetto?' Bourgie and ghetto. If you got like a mansion, but your car is still spilling oil in the driveway, that's boughetto."
Ali debuted on Nelly's eight-times-platinum Country Grammar, and also appears on the St. Lunatic's platinum Free City.
