Jeff Buckley's Memorial Service August 1st

(7/29/97) - This Friday, August 1st, at 5pm, a memorial service for singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley (son of the late folk-jazz legend Tim Buckley) will be held at St. Ann & The Trinity Holy Church in Brooklyn Heights, New York. 30-year-old Buckley died early last month in a freak drowning accident in the Mississippi River, shortly before he was to begin recording the follow-up to his acclaimed 1994 album Grace. Those attending Friday's memorial, which is open to the public, have been instructed to wear white or Spring colors, rather than funereal black, to help "celebrate a life that was golden"; guests are also requested to make donations to the Memphis Zoo in lieu of flowers.
