Bosstones Ready To Get Warped Again

(6/21/00, 12 p.m. ET) - The Mighty Mighty Bosstones will head to Fresno, California, on Thursday (June 22) along with countless other punk-inspired bands and extreme-sports athletes to launch Warped Tour 2000. This is the third time the Boston ska-punk outfit has played this summer gig, only this time it is one of the marquee acts along with Green Day and NOFX. Main Bosstone Dicky Barrett tells LAUNCH that it's exactly the type of package he'd put together himself. "I'm so excited about the Warped Tour, I can't even believe it," he said. "There's a million tours, but there's only one Warped Tour. If we were putting together a package tour, if someone said, you know, 'Dicky, please assemble a multi-act, traveling festival tour,' I would put together a tour exactly like the Warped Tour. So, luckily, the good people at Warped and Vans have done the work for me and I just get to be a part of it. It's a nice way to spend your summer, if you like rock 'n' roll." Other acts on the brunt of the Warped Tour 2000 include Papa Roach, Fenix TX, Chuck D & Confrontation Camp, Jurassic 5, Long Beach Dub Allstars, MxPx, the Muffs, and Suicide Machines. Look for Weezer to play some dates in Southern California and No Doubt, Lit, and Black Eyed Peas to join in on the fun in Minneapolis on July 11. -- Neal Weiss, Los Angeles
