Ministry Recording New Music, Tour In The Works

(7/10/01, 3 p.m. ET) -- Ministry is back in the music shops with the recently released Greatest Fits album, featuring such favorite romps and stomps such as "Thieves," "Stigmata," and "Jesus Built My Hotrod." But don't expect the band to tour for the effort--group masterminds Al Jourgensen and Paul Barker are currently in the studio working on new material.
However, it doesn't mean Ministry wouldn't like to hit the road for the first time in two years "Sure, what are you kidding? Middle-aged men let loose upon the unsuspecting public in America? Of course! We're psyched, we're stoked on it. But we wouldn't be stoked if we didn't feel that the music was going to be really good," Jourgensen says.
Adds Barker, "We're not going to do the country fair tour, that's for sure."
Jourgensen continues, "You'll never see us in one of these revival kind of things with like, 'Eight bands from the years...early '90s coming back atcha!' Not us."
Ministry's last release of new material was 1999's Dark Side Of The Spoon.
