Kurupt Begins Filming 'Plague Season,' Readies New Album

(5/16/01, 3 p.m. ET) -- Kurupt is scheduled to begin filming his role in the Kurt Russell and Ving Rhames film Plague Season this week in Los Angeles. Kurupt's single "Behind The Walls" from the Oz soundtrack is Number 61 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.
Kurupt portrays Orchard, a relentless hired killer with a comedic edge, in the film set in South Central Los Angeles during the 1992 Rodney King trial and riots.
In related news, Kurupt is working on his third solo album titled Space Boogie: Smoke Oddessey, scheduled to be released this summer. The album's first release "It's Over" featuring Natina Reed of Blaque, has already been receiving some radio spins. The album additionally includes collaborations from Daz Dillinger, Jon B., Everlast, Snoop Dogg, Goldie Loc, Nate Dogg, Xzibit, MC Ren, and Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst and DJ Lethal.
Tha Dogg Pound members Kurupt and Daz were originally scheduled to release a new album this month under the name D.P.G.; however, the record, Dillinger & Young Gotti, has been placed on hold.
