(1/2/02, 6 p.m. ET) -- The recording studios of renowned DJ-producer BT (Brian Transeau) were robbed over the recent Christmas holidays. Thieves stole all of BT's studio equipment, valued at more than $100,000, as well as the master tapes of his next album. The performer was in London when the robbery occurred at 4 Box Studios, his private home recording studio. BT is best known in the U.S. for his collaboration with *NSYNC on "Pop," the first single from the group's latest album Celebrity.
"Everything is gone," reports the BT Network website (bt-network.org). "Brian's computers, synths, hard drives, etc. were stolen. Most of album (number four) is missing. He didn't have any off-site backups." The post continues, "BT has said if the things are returned there will be a huge reward and no questions asked. He just wants his music back. If you have anything to live for you will act upon his request, or be pursued for a very long time. A lot of people are extremely upset about this. I hope you are enjoying your 15 minutes of fame for stealing BT's studio...because it's gonna get you 15."
Anyone with information regarding the theft can send an email to BTRobbery@bt-network.org. Any information provided will be kept confidential, if requested, according to the website.
