(9/9/99, 1 p.m. PDT) - Rap superstars Method Man and Redman have made a parody of the popular TV show Cops, titled P.I.G.S.. In the short film, the two rappers pose as nuns and collect money on a street corner to buy marijuana. The seven-minute film includes a police chase through homes and ends with the duo making a safe subway getaway. P.I.G.S. is currently being webcast via Def Jam's official site, www.defjam.com.

The film served as an introduction to the Method Man and Redman's performance at New York's WHQT (Hot 97) Summer Jam. "It came out so funny, I decided that everyone should see it, not just those fortunate to be at Summer Jam," says Chonita Floyd, Def Jam's director of marketing.

A video of the film farce will be distributed by the label's street promotions team, and a limited number of videos will be given away free to those who purchase the duo's forthcoming joint album, Blackout!, scheduled to be released Sept. 28. The video, however, will not be sold separately.

Floyd adds that Def Jam will consider releasing films for its other artists if they are good enough. "Meth and Red are the only hip-hoppers secure enough within themselves to do things like dress up as nuns, wrestle, etc.; so they are perfect for films," Floyd says.

Method Man and Redman are also enjoying favorable response to their "Tear It Off" video. The video for the song featured on the In Too Deep soundtrack is set at a wrestling event. After Redman gets into a scuffle with the mother of one of the wrestlers, he and Method are drawn to the ring for a stunt-filled brawl.

They are also reportedly set to co-star in a movie about two blunt-smoking students who get admitted into an Ivy League college and have to prove their intelligence.

Features on Method Man and Redman are available on LAUNCH.com.
