(4/23/99, 1 p.m. PDT) - BT, known away from the turntables as Brain Transeau, is ready to go all the way. Fresh from scoring Doug Liman's new look at nightlife, Go, which features his "Believer" on the soundtrack, he is pursuing several other remix and recording opportunities.

"The people making the film wanted someone who was familiar with the techno scene to handle the music for the film. I wanted to do something I hadn't tried yet," BT says. "As if I needed convincing, I went up and watched some of the film early on with Doug Liman. It was a lot of fun working with such a cutting-edge director, and this movie is hysterical. It has some deadpan portrayals of L.A. kids. The characters at the rave in the film are people I know."

His Go experience has inspired the 27-year-old artist to look around for more projects to score. "I'm totally into this score thing now. It is so challenging to marry images and music. Electronica is good for that kind of thing. It is basically what DJs do at raves with film footage anyway."

While looking, BT is keeping busy in the studio. He recently collaborated with longtime friend Sasha on the smash dance floor ditty "Ride," recorded "The Promethean Groove" under the name Kaistar for the City Of Angels label, remixed Madonna's "Drowned World" and Sarah McLachlan's "I Love You," and joined Peter Gabriel's annual think tank for contemporary musical pioneers.

In spite of all of those extracurricular activities, BT still found time to work on his untitled third solo album, which follows 1995's Ima and 1997's ECSM. "Boredom doesn't suit me, so I try to stay busy."

Go came in No. 6 at the box office its opening weekend, earning $4.7 million. It stars Katie Holmes, Scott Wolf, Breckin Meyer, Taye Diggs, Sarah Polley, and William Fichtner. The soundtrack album is No. 57 this week and has sold more than 47,000 copies since its release.
