(6/16/01, 10 a.m. ET) -- Jagged Edge's last album, J.E. Heartbreak, continues to perform well on the pop and R&B charts. Released last year, the album is Number 84 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and its single "Promise" is Number 43 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. But instead of waiting to release a new album once J.E. Heartbreak fell off of the charts, the Atlanta-based quartet decided to release its third album, Jagged Little Thrill on June 26.
Group member Kyle tells LAUNCH that the group loves to stay ahead of the competition. "We stay in the studio. We love to stay ahead of the game also in everything we do. We love writing, we love performing, so we was like at the tail end of our album anyway," Kyle says. "How long, our album had been out for 67 weeks almost? So it was about time for another one, really. Like I said, we love what we do. And we just work very hard to be the best."
"Where The Party At" featuring Nelly, the first single from Jagged Little Thrill, has maintained the Number 14 position on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart for three weeks.
