(11/8/02, 3 p.m. ET) -- Offspring guitarist Noodles has had a busy summer as a father, the buyer of a new home, and the founder of a new surf, skate, and music magazine.
"All my writing lately has gone toward a magazine that I'm helping to start up with our friend Paul Cobb, who you may know as the director and producer of our home-videos Americana and Huck It," wrote Noodles in his online journal. "It's an action-sports and music magazine called Spare Change. We charge only 99 cents a copy and try to cram it full of enough stuff to keep everyone interested. There are articles on skating, surfing, motocross, BMX, snowboarding, art, and music."
Noodles added, "Our first issue came out last month, and in it I interview [guitarist] Tom [Dumont] from No Doubt and Eric Sandin from NOFX. I also contributed a tongue-in-cheek article about all the surfers who want to be rock-stars and vise-versa. So far our distribution is mostly limited to the West Coast, but we plan to take over the whole country so ask for it at all your local shops."
Noodles said that the Offspring should be back into the studio "soon." The band's last studio release was 2000's Conspiracy Of One.
