Pete Yorn Recording Songs For Second Album

(12/28/01, 5 p.m. ET) - While Pete Yorn's just beginning to make a name for himself with his debut album, Musicforthemorningafter, and the singles "Life On A Chain" and "(For Nancy) 'Cos It Already Is," he's already looking forward to what's next for him.
With recent news that his label, Columbia Records, picked up his option for a second album, the Los Angeles singer-songwriter has spent much of his free time mapping out the effort. He tells LAUNCH: "I'm very happy to be doing another record for them. It won't come out for a bit, probably not until the fall or something like that, but I've already recorded seven songs in my spare time, which I don't really have, but I got that done."
Yorn adds that the new songs are "a different direction in that you'll hear it and you'll be like, 'Wow, this sounds like the next record.' They have similar sensibilities but it's definitely new and fresh-sounding."
