Sevendust Visits Ground Zero

(11/7/01, 6 p.m. ET) -- The reality of September 11 has hit Sevendust. During a visit to New York City to promote its new album, Animosity, the band visited Ground Zero, the place where the Twin Towers once stood. Drummer Morgan Rose told LAUNCH that the destruction "doesn't even look real. We went down to where everybody else can go, about a block or two away."

Rose added "You could just see the smoke, and you can see the buildings surrounding it that were damaged heavily. And then we went up on top of a building and it's just like war zone, destruction. And then you look up and you see a building standing next to it that's probably 60 stories high. And you realize that there was people that were jumping out of a building that was probably...There were people jumping out of the 80th floor of that building before it went down and it's 20 stories higher than that."

Guitarist Clint Lowery added. "We just wanted to see it for ourselves so we could see what the people of New York City are going through and to pay our respects. The people of New York City are incredible to even be able to endure that." Rose added that the scene "was devastating. I'll never go back."

"Praise," the first single from the album, was the most added track at Active Rock radio last week, according to music industry publication Radio & Records. Animosity is due Tuesday (November 13).
