Maroon 5 Singer Gets Protective Over Girlfriend

According to the Irish Examiner, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has warned Robbie Williams to steer clear of his girlfriend, model Kelly McGee, after the British pop star was reportedly hitting on her. Levine said he understands that people will approach McGee because "she's a beautiful girl." The 25-year-old singer said about Williams, "He's more confident than your average male but I don't hold it against him," adding, "I think I have enough self-worth to realize that I'm better than everyone else for her. And girls hit on me all the time so we both just deal with the fact."
Maroon5 are performing live for VH1's Inside Track, which will be filmed at Roseland Ballroom in New York City Monday (August 16). Also taking the stage for the show are Joss Stone, Jamie Cullum and Keane. VH1 will premiere the show on September 21.
Maroon 5 are out on the road with John Mayer and will perform in Holmdel, New Jersey Tuesday (August 17).
At one of their recent shows, Levine sang the lyrics of Nine Inch Nails' "Closer," which he says is one of the best songs ever written. He told Newsday, "What most people would characterize as a love song doesn't always have to be the case. It's a very passionate, beautiful, emotional song--just because it has the word f--k in it, people write it off."
Maroon 5's debut album Songs About Jane was recently certified double platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA.
