LL Cool J Tops At The Box Office

(8/12/03, 10 a.m. ET) - Rapper and actor LL Cool J is one of the stars of the Number One movie in the country, S.W.A.T., which raked in $37 million last weekend, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which details the Los Angeles police department's struggle to keep a dangerous criminal behind bars, also stars Samuel Jackson, Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jeremy Renner.
LL Cool J is in Montreal, Canada, shooting Slow Burn with Taye Diggs, Guy Torry, Mekhi Phifer, and Ray Liotta. The movie was written by Wayne Beach who is also directing the film.
Once shooting wraps, LL Cool J will be heading back into the studio to complete a new album tentatively scheduled for release on December 9.
