Brooks & Dunn Top 'Billboard', 'R&R' Country Albums Charts

(7/24/03, 1 p.m. ET) -- Red Dirt Road, the latest album from Brooks & Dunn, debuts at the top of both the Billboard and R&R country albums charts. The project is the award-winning duo's first week highest-seller, moving more than 114,000 units. Red Dirt Road also claims the Number Four spot on Billboard's Top 200 all-genre albums chart.
Ronnie Dunn says, "It's really humbling for us to write something so personal and see people respond like this, both at the shows and at their record stores." Musical partner Kix Brooks adds, "You can't write about fun and games all the time. I think Ron and I were ready to get to a place that was a bit more reflective, to maybe expose our roots a little more."
The album's title track, "Red Dirt Road," also holds the Number One spot on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
Brooks & Dunn are currently on the road with their Neon Circus & Wild West Show. The multi-act show, which also features Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Aaron Lines and Jeff Bates, will stop at Atlanta's HiFi Buys Amphitheatre on Friday (July 25), before heading to Florida.
Brooks & Dunn will perform on the Today Show’s "Summer Concert Series" on August 15.
