Naomi Judd On The Big Screen And Performing Again
04/25/2000 1:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Craig Rosen
(4/25/00, 1 p.m. ET) - Naomi Judd is currently featured in her first starring film role on the big screen, in Family Tree. The film, which debuted in theaters last week, also stars Cliff Robertson, Robert Forster, and Andy and Matt Lawrence. Judd plays the part of Sarah, a small-town housewife and mother of two sons. On the small screen, Wynonna and Naomi Judd are in Utah this week filming an appearance for CBS's Touched By An Angel. The Judds will play themselves on the episode, and an airdate for the show has yet to be set. On May 17, CBS will broadcast the Judd's Power To Change concert special. Naomi says she is especially thankful to be back on stage performing, as she tells LAUNCH, "There is nothing like it, frankly," she says. "It's just like winning the Olympic gold medal. You spend your whole life becoming who you are at that second under that spotlight, under that microscope. And you're given the privilege of sharing what you've learned and where you are at that point, you're given the blessing, the opportunity to maybe take that person to another level. Music gives you, gives us, I think, direct access to each others' souls. It's a language all its own." -- Jennifer Gerlock, Nashville
