Nickelback's Chad Kroeger Says Band Doesn't Have To Win Grammy

(1/23/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger was nominated for two Grammys for "Hero," and the band's "How You Remind Me" is up for the prestigious record of the year award.
The band already has taken home several Billboard Awards, but Kroeger acknowledges the Grammy is the big one. Kroeger said he does not feel any pressure to win at the awards show to be broadcast in February. "We don't have to win," Kroeger said. "Just for the simple fact that we got nominated, that's cool enough. Now they're going to repackage all the CDs now, 'Grammy nominations for....' 'Grammy-nominated record....'"
Nickelback's "How You Remind Me" is up against Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles," Eminem's "Without Me," Norah Jones's "Don't Know Why," and Nelly (featuring Kelly Rowland)'s "Dilemma" for the record of the year Grammy.
Kroeger (featuring Josey Scott)'s "Hero" is up for Grammy for best rock performance by duo or group with vocal and best rock song.
