(5/22/02, 4 p.m. ET) -- An accident in Spain early Wednesday (May 22) involving Alien Ant Farm's tour bus killed the vehicle's driver and injured all four members of the group and several of its crew.

The bus collided with a parked truck at approximately 2:20 a.m. on a highway approximately 200 miles en route to Madrid, as the group traveled from Luxembourg to its next scheduled show in Lisbon, Portugal, according to DreamWorks Records. Most on board were sleeping at the time of the accident.

AAF frontman Dryden Mitchell sustained a neck injury and was admitted to a local hospital for observation, AP reports. Drummer Mike Hargrove suffered cuts and bruises, guitarist Terry Corso broke an ankle, and bassist Tye Zamora experienced foot injuries. All three were treated and released.

Six crew members were also injured; the worst being David Zajic, Alien Ant Farm's Czech security head, who suffered "undetermined but critical injuries."

"We send our condolences and prayers to the family of the driver and our prayers are with David in hopes that he has a full recovery," band manager John Boyle said in Los Angeles. "We're obviously very fortunate and thankful the band and crew survived the accident."

The name of the driver was unknown as press time, known only by the initials "C.H." and to be British, according to AP.

Alien Ant Farm had completed eight of 10 shows in Europe in support of its DreamWorks Records debut album, ANThology. The final two shows--Wednesday (May 22) in Lisbon and Thursday (May 23) in Madrid--were cancelled. A scheduled appearance at a radio festival in Washington D.C. on Saturday (May 25) has also been cancelled.
