(4/5/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- Co-headliners Good Charlotte and New Found Glory have announced the official launch of their interactive tour website (civictour.com).
The official website of the Civic Tour 2003 will give fans information about the tour, the headlining bands, and the national online sweepstakes, which will award lucky winners one of 12 new Honda Civic Si's personally autographed and custom designed by the respective bands.
Good Charlotte vocalist Joel Madden said that each stop on the 45-city tour will have a club atmosphere, but on a much larger scale. "You know, all of the shows pretty much have, like, a big open space for all of the kids to be close to the stage and stuff," Madden said. "We try to make it as interactive as we can--like in a small club, but on a bigger scale."
Madden said that fans who can't make it to the shows can use the new website to follow the tour's progress. "If fans can't make it to a show, they won't miss out on the fun because with civictour.com, they can still have a chance to win one of our customized Si's or they can check out what's happening with us on the road through our tour-diary entries," Madden said.
The Civic Tour 2003 kicks off April 8 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and will wrap up June 7 at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles.
In other Good Charlotte news, the band will perform "The Anthem" on Saturday Night Live on Saturday (April 5). The show's host for the night is Bernie Mac. Saturday Night Live airs on NBC-TV at 11:30 p.m. ET. "The Anthem" is currently Number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100.
