(3/22/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Even in the midst of Kid Rock's Cocky world tour, Uncle Kracker--the DJ in Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker band--is moving ahead on his second solo album. Kracker, whose 2000 debut Double Wide went platinum, was in Nashville recently to record a cover of "Drift Away" with Dobie Gray, whose original version of the song was a top-five hit in 1973. Kracker has performed the song in his concerts ever since Double Wide's release. Kracker also journeyed down to Louisiana for a photo shoot in the swamplands with live alligators. The new album, tentatively titled Sued, Boozed And Tattooed, is slated for release this summer.
In other Kracker news, he has settled the trademark-infringement lawsuit brought against him by the band Cracker in Virginia, where that group is based, for an undisclosed sum.
