(8/31/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- Pete Yorn and the Wallflowers' Rami Jaffee will celebrate the debut of their new label, Trampoline Records, with performances at a party at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood Saturday night (August 31). The label officially makes its debut Tuesday (September 3) with the release of the Trampoline Records Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 various-artists collection, available exclusively at Barnes & Noble stores and online at milesofmusic.com.
Yorn and Jaffee started the label with fellow Los Angeles veteran musician Marc Dauer in order to "expose the world to good music." Dauer's own Jukebox Junkies will also perform, as well as several other local acts that appear on the release, including Minibar, Gary Jules, Phil Cody, and Gingersol.
The show is the first of several planned in Los Angeles under the title Trampoline Records Review, including one at the considerably larger House Of Blues venue on October 29.
Yorn makes the appearance while also focusing on the follow-up to his 2001 Columbia Records debut, Musicforthemorningafter. He is working on the project with longtime collaborator Walt Vincent, who also plays bass in Yorn's touring band.
Jaffee, meanwhile, is currently gearing up for the release of the Wallflowers' next album, Red Letter Days, which arrives September 24 from Interscope.
