K.D. Lang To Battle Sleater-Kinney And Janis Ian For GLAAD Award

(1/16/01, 6 p.m. ET) - K.D. Lang's Invincible Summer album will go head to head with releases by punk-rock girl trio Sleater-Kinney and folk mainstay Janis Ian for the outstanding music album at the 12th annual GLAAD Media Awards. Singer-songwriter Patty Larkin and Stephen Gately of the Irish pop outfit Boyzone were also nominated for the award, to be given out by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation in ceremonies to take place later this year.
