(6/15/00, 12 p.m. ET) - Sister Hazel singer Ken Block and his wife Tracy are the proud parents of a baby boy born around 4 p.m. on Monday (June 12). Block recently spoke to LAUNCH about becoming a new dad and how it will affect the band. "I think what we've seen since we've been together for so many years now . . . you can't look at it like how it affects just you because eventually you're going to have that same situation -- and you're going to want those same considerations," he said. "When I got married, I mean it was a big deal, but I think in the back of everybody's mind knew, 'You know what? There's gonna be some time when I need some time off. Jeff's getting married in the fall . . . and I think you really do, you become a family with all the wonderful things, and all the hard long days as well. But we do a pretty good job of that, and I couldn't ask for more understanding from the guys. And I really think that everybody does a good job of not asking for more than they need." "We are all really excited about it, and all the guys, we really are like brothers," added Block. "People say, 'Well you guys are, like, friends,' but we're really like brothers, and it's exciting to see everybody go through different life transitions." Not only is Block a new father, but his band has a new album titled Fortress due on June 27. "Yeah, it's an exciting time," said Block. The album will include the songs "Change Your Mind," "Fortress," "Out There," "Strange Cup Of Tea," "Your Winter," and "Champagne High," with guest vocals by Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls and more. Sister Hazel's tour kicks off June 29 at Tampa, Florida's Jannus Landing and wraps in Nashville on August 3. -- Darren Davis and Jason Gelman, New York
