Foreigner's Lou Gramm On Touring And Recovering

(5/9/02, 12 p.m. ET) -- Foreigner is set to embark on a tour with Bad Company starting May 31 in Pompano Beach, Florida. Singer Lou Gramm is currently singing to tapes, doing vocal and physical exercises to get in shape for the tour.
Gramm has been battling the reoccurring effects of a brain tumor. Most of the tumor was removed a few years back, but some of it remains. He told LAUNCH that he now knows what he can do to improve his situation and he's learning to deal with some of the things that he can't change.
"In terms of danger, I would say I'm out of the woods, but the damage that was done will keep me on my toes in terms of what I do to myself, how I take care of myself," Gramm explained. "I'll probably be on some medications for the rest of my life. I know for sure I'll have sleep apnea for the rest of my life. That's something where you go to sleep and you stop breathing. It requires you to wear an oxygen mask while you sleep. That's something that doesn't go away."
According to Gramm, he was born with the tumor, and it grew as he got older. He first started getting intense headaches in 1996 from the tumor. He also experienced severe memory loss and, ironically with no humor intended, double vision.
