Offspring's Noodles Comments On RAC, Bassist Has Offspring

(3/9/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- The Offspring has been playing a few scattered shows recently. The band visited Russia and played the Recording Artists Coalition concert in Long Beach, California last month.
Guitarist Noodles (real name Kevin Wasserman) wrote on the band's website, "The RAC Is a lobbying union for musicians who, up to this point, have been painfully unrepresented as a whole when it comes to legal issues that affect us. When laws are being considered that affect musicians, especially young and new acts, the RAC will make sure that the artist's rights are not overlooked."
He added, "I know what you're all thinking; 'Enough of the legal bulls--t! How was the show? Incredible! Hometown shows are always crazy, and we weren't disappointed with this one. They were all singing and jumping around like animals. Weezer was great. We played a damn good show, if I do say so myself, and then No Doubt closed with one of the best sets I've ever seen them play. And this is in no way influenced by their choice of guest players on the encore version of Blondie's 'Call Me.'"
Noodles was alluding to himself with his final comment.
The Offspring will play a show with Social Distortion at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on April 27 for extreme sports god Tony Hawk's Boom Boom HuckJam.
In other Offspring news, bassist Greg Kriesel recently became the father to his second child. The child's name is Matthew David Kriesel.
